How to Make a Travel Journal in 6 Easy Steps | Journal With Me

Looking at junk journaling videos is surely a motivation, but the main work starts when you have to sit down and make it. If you are someone, who loves to travel and wants to make a travel journal, let's get you started. Follow these six easy steps, and the journey to make your travel journal will begin!

What you'll need

Your journal (of course)

Scissor

Glue

A page from a book

Cut-outs from an old magazine

Sketch pens

Some tickets/bills from your trip

Wedding cards/ colored sheets

Now, no-one said that you need high-end supplies for making a travel journal. These are some basic materials that you can use.

Step 1:

We are beginning with making a pocket, where you can keep the bills/tickets from your trip. To make this pocket, cut any paper in a rectangle or square. Apply glue on three of its side, excluding the top one, and paste it on either side of your travel journal.

Step 2:

Next, cut a strip, which can be of the same color or a different one. To give it more texture, I cut it as a wave. I also put the luggage tag from my trip in the pocket that I made.

Step 3:

Tear a page from an old book, and paste it above the strip. By pasting one thing over the other, you also create layers which gives the journal a very interesting look.

Step 4:

Next, I put a picture on the layer that we pasted in the previous step. This created another layer. I had cut out this picture from a magazine during fussy cutting and used it here.

In the same step, I also cut out a tag to paste on the same page.

Step 5:

In this step, I pasted another text I got from fussy cutting. I also added some handwritten text, a box that I'll be filling later, and a simple doodle.

You can find many such simple doodles by following this board on Pinterest.

Step 6:

To add a color element, I added two thin strips on the box I drew in the earlier step and then filled the box with text. This text could be anything from how your trip was, what you learned there, any word you got familiar with, or a quote you loved.
